Help with DayRecall

Quick answers to common questions, and a direct line to us when they aren’t enough.

Write to us

Tell us roughly when it happened, on which device, and what you saw. A log helps most: here’s how to send one.

Testing the beta? You can also send feedback, with screenshots, from the TestFlight app.

Before you start

What you need

iPhone

An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. It keeps your day and turns speech into text.

Apple Watch

An Apple Watch with watchOS 26 or later listens for you. It’s optional: you can also record with the iPhone, or import audio.

Apple Intelligence

Answers and to-dos use Apple Intelligence, so they need an iPhone that supports it, with Apple Intelligence turned on. For answers, you can use your own API instead.

Common questions

Quick answers

The watch isn’t listening

Your Apple Watch listens only during your listening hours, set in Settings › Listening hours. When they begin, the watch asks whether to start: tap Start, and it stops on its own when they end.

A call or Siri pauses listening; tap Start on the watch to carry on. The Today page on your iPhone shows whether the watch is listening.

When does the text appear?

The watch hands over what it heard about every two hours, and when it stops listening; your iPhone turns it into text as it arrives. For text sooner, open DayRecall and tap Sync now.

The first time, your iPhone downloads Apple’s speech model for your language. Recordings are turned into text once it’s ready.

No answers, or no to-dos

Both use Apple Intelligence. Check that it’s turned on in the iPhone Settings app and has finished downloading. To-dos appear once a recording has been turned into text.

For answers, you can also use your own API, in Settings › Answer with.

Marking who is speaking

Turn on Mark who is speaking in Settings › Transcription, and record about a minute of your voice somewhere quiet. Your lines are then marked Me, and everyone else Other 1, Other 2.

To record your voice again, or delete it, open My voice in the same place.

More than one language

Turn on Multilingual transcription in Settings › Transcription, and add up to two more languages. DayRecall then follows a conversation that switches between them.

Transcription takes longer and uses more battery while it’s on.

Handing a day to an AI app

Tap Hand the day to an AI app on Today, on a past day or in Ask, and choose your AI app in the share sheet.

To bring its to-dos back, copy its answer and tap Bring the AI’s answer back, in the Shortcuts app or in Settings › To-dos.

Calendar and Reminders

Promises, deadlines and meetings wait in To-dos, under To confirm. Confirm an event, and the iOS New Event screen opens.

To send confirmed to-dos to Reminders too, turn on Add confirmed to-dos to Reminders in Settings › To-dos.

Places on the map

Turn on Show the day on a map in Settings › Places. When iOS asks for location access, choose Always, so places are noted while DayRecall is closed. It uses some battery.

Deleting your data

Delete a recording from its page, or everything with Settings › Privacy › Delete all memories. Delete my voice removes your voiceprint.

Deleting the app removes what it stored; if you saved a key for your own API, tap Remove saved key first. More in the privacy policy.

Sending us a log

Open Settings › Developer options › Logs, tap Share log, and send the file to support@dayrecall.com.

The log says what the app did and when. It never contains what was said, your questions, names or places.

Privacy
